Left Behind.

What the hell did I just watch.

This is seriously the worst film ever to be shown in theaters. I mean why is it even there in the first place? SERIOUSLY WTF. I  enjoy watching end of the world films and since Nicolas Cage was in it I decided to go see the movie. But what did I get in return? Poor acting, terrible cinematography, and highly inapt music. I mean who the hell plays country in an action scene? Left Behind does! *sigh* It was distressingly bad. There's a story, yes. And obviously it had a religious message (no, I won't talk about the religious discrimination that transpired because I understand that it wasn't intended for all viewers especially non-christian viewers.. just gonna say it was a bit insulting is all). They should have developed the plot more. It could have been something more.. rate worthy. I feel sorry for Nicolas Cage.

Pepper Lunch
In other news, I just found a new favorite dish!

I've been here three times. I didn't like it at first because it was bland and the meat was too thin. Later on I found out I was eating it wrong. Foolish me forgot to add sauce. *facepalm* Now that I learned to drown it in Honey Brown Sauce I crave for it all the time! I want to eat here at least once a week. If only it weren't too pricey. But.. but aghhh meat~

Maginhawa QC Food Festival
October 11, 2014

I love Maginhawa. It's truly QC's food Mecca and I'm very lucky (whenever I have money that is) to be living close by. Me and my friends would really love to try all the restaurants there someday. And as if the world is giving us permission to do so, Maginhawa became one of the host for the 75th QC Anniversary!

I'll keep the reviews short but meaty (pun intended).

1. Stuff Over Burger Cafe
Place was small but intimate. Great for chilling when alone or with a good friend. Not advisable for barkada meetings, definitely. Service was fast. Price was reasonable. The burgers, though the meat was yummy, the bread was something you can get out of the grocery store. It wasn't chewy at all, matter of fact it was crunchy and cold. Same goes for the fries.
Rating: 7

2. Crazy Katsu
I expected a lot from this place since a lot of people I know said good things about it. Though it wasn't entirely a let down, something was off. Maybe it just wasn't the Japanese food I was looking for that day? Probably. I tried out their best-seller and for me it didn't feel like the best, sorry. Price was fine. Service too. Place was nice and could accommodate a few more than Stuff Over Burgers.
Rating: 8

3. Taste of Heaven
YUMMY. It did feel like a taste of heaven. This is the best milkshake I've ever had so far. Then again, it was the only milkshake place I know. Haha. I went here twice already and it still makes me want to try out other flavors. Cut a long story short, I'm lactose intolerant but they make me crave for their milkshakes whenever I'm in the area.
Rating: 9

4. Cha Dao Tea Place
What can I say, an ordinary milk tea place. Not the best one but good enough to quench a thirst. The lady in the counter was nice too, points for her. :)
Rating: 7

5. Katz Diner
After hours of travelling Maginhawa, we had our lunch at this newly opened (not sure) restaurant along Malingap. It had this homey feel to it. I think it was the owner, a very sweet old lady, who personally handed me their menu. I was so touched for words at that time. Haha. The place was almost packed and it may be because they just opened but I noticed they were a bit agitated. Personally I think it's great they were because it makes them watch out for every customer. Food was fine, good enough to leave my empty stomach satisfied. Price was a bit expensive. But I will probably come back to have brunch or something again there someday.

Looking forward for more Maginhawa Adventures with my favorite people! The best feeling is to eat good food with good people. This is what makes me happy.

Highschool King of Savvy
(Wrote this weeks ago. Only posting them now.)

Some of you might hate me for this. But that was the worst ending for a drama ever.
Didn't like it at all. I may have been expecting something different or I might have an unreasonably high standards for drama endings but for me that ending was just messy and sorta lame.

*SPOILER* What ever happened to the other characters? I want to see the progress between the director and that lady. What about his parent issues? What about the older brother? And that wedding! What is up with that. I have a looot of questions. The ending felt unfinished. It felt something like "Screw it, do whatever you want for the ending." It just wasn't well thought off, you know? *END SPOILER*

Seo In Guk and Lee Ha Na's acting were adorable though. Usually after leads get together it gets real mushy and lame. Theirs wasn't. And for that, I'm giving you a fair score.

The Burger Project.

So much burger win on this one.

Everyone knows I'm not much a fan of burgers. The only burger I ever crave for is the cheeseburger of McDonalds. That is.. mainly because of the cheese. However last May 30, us TrĂªs Marias (Me, Kapatid and Filar) went to Burger Project to try out their all famous create-your-own-burger. To give you an overview of what went down that day, let's just say it veered me away from what I was accustomed of.

So they give you this check-list of things you want to put in your burger. It was tempting to mark whatever floats your boat, but of course you would have to consider the taste when laid down together. As for me, I was quite pleased with my creation. It turned out fine, taste-wise too. Serving was huge and service was fast. Needless to say, I left that store with a satisfied tum tum. Down rating a bit though because it was pretty hot inside.

Congratulations to those who've noticed a change in my template.

I've been meaning to work on that for a while now but never had time to do so. I knowww, it's rather simple, but sometimes you just have to keep things minimal and easy, thus, the minimalistic concept. You have to admit, it looks professional. Well, what can I say? I grew and matured. Hahaha.

Sorry for not keeping up lately. In fact, I have lots of draft pending in the dashboard. Apologies for I am still trying to adjust to the whole work schedule. I'll try very hard to do so in the future. Pinky swear.

Work + life = ERROR.

Sunday, May 18, 2014

Work should only stay within the four corners of your office.

Been stressing out over work lately. Either because I'm taking this too lightly or too much, I can't tell. Those two weeks have been hell, I'm sorry, but it's true. And you know what ticks me off the most? The fact that I'm forced to be someone I'm not.

I just had my first mess up for the year. Constantly I've been told that I'm too meek and timid. Yes, I agree, but is that such a crime? Introverted people like me have been looked down upon on for so long. I am VERY frustrated about the fact that they kept asking me to be their definition of 'charming'. Someone loud and emphatic. Well.. sorry for being acquiescent. Sorry for being contained and respectful. Sorry for not stepping on someone's privacy. And I'm sorry for not being 'charming'.

YOU EXPECT ME TO APOLOGIZE FOR THAT? No. I'm not sorry. But it's you who should be.

(c) Kapatid
I'm glad I have them. I need them now more than ever.
We hung out at Ally's All Day Breakfast Place to have.. lunch. Hehe. I had the breakfast favorite, Beef Tapa, while Kapatid and Filar tried out their create-your-own-pancakes. Cut a long story short, it was worth it. The tapa was delicious, pancakes were fluffy, the proportions were more than you can handle, and the service was fine. Small and intimate place. I like it.

After that we wandered the streets of Maginhawa to look for a quaint chill out place. It took a while but we stumbled upon this let loose tea room, Antiteasis: Books & Brews.

AHHH detoxifying all negativity. I'm not a fan of teas and don't know much about them so I tried out their recommended cold Teekanne strawberry raspberry. It was heaven I tell you. Kapatid had cold vanilla I don't know, while Filar had hot orange I don't know. Hehe. We stayed for a while and played board games, not realizing it was already dark out.
Antiteasis, I'll be back often.

Buffets.

Friday, April 11, 2014

Been frequenting buffets lately.

The Buffet.
I'm starting to think that chandeliers are compulsory in Buffets. Haha. This is where we went to celebrate our graduation. To sum up, it was YUM. I'm not sure if it's because I was starving or if I've gotten used to eating at buffets, but the food here was exceptional. Not a lot to choose from though if you're like me who doesn't eat pork (and if you arrive an hour later than your sched). But it was very kind of them to serve us complementary dishes upon knowing that. Seafood galore! Points for that, The Buffet. Points for that.

Had fun with the family. I always am.

Love Desserts.
Second time around. Eating sweets with my sweets. :3

Okay. I don't even know how to start. Well.. It was worth my P199 I'll tell you that. The dessert choices were kind of limited. Limited cake choices, limited ice cream flavors, limited drink flavors. And you get to have unlimited of that. So.. you get sick of it real quick. 2 hours may seem short at first but once you're there it seems like forever. (But of course, it's sugar. What do you expect). It's a perfect place for hangouts with friends. Those lazy afternoons when you crave for unlimited sweets? By all means, I recommend this place.

My day yesterday.

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

I was out the whole day yesterday. I met up with friends and I went to watch two movies with my sister.

Buffet: Vikings SM North EDSA.
I regret eating breakfast earlier that morning. My stomach was waay over its limit. I was so full, my tummy refused to expand! No, but if I were to critic the place objectively, I'd say the food was good but not great. You'll know a great food once you taste one. For me, that wasn't it. The service was fine though. The dessert bar, sweet. I could just live there forever. And the place, quite fancy. Haha. But no matter how many buffets (or restaurants) I've gone to, surely nothing beats lutong bahay.

Non-Stop

I love Liam Neeson, but his character in the film was way paranoid. I mean, chill out! I get that you're an air marshal but don't go breaking people's nose just because you think they're suspicious. Typical example of a person acting rash. Oh and he could have clarified 'that' to everyone to begin with. He would have had less problems. I mean, you're asking people to cooperate yet you're acting all crazy. You expect me to follow orders from you? Hell no.
I did like the flow of events. I never would have thought it was that person. Not really feeling it though.

300: Rise of an Empire

Well, I love Eva Green. Her character stood out the most. She's so pretty and dark and strong and just perfect. To be honest, I'm not much a fan of movies like this. Heck, I haven't even watched the first 300 yet! But I must admit, I kinda liked this one. I probably should watch 300 too. :)

Classic Savory.

Celebrated Pegshoppe's birthday! Yaaaay~!

Had our lunch at Classic Savory, Greenhills. Not much costumer during our stay there but food was tasty, service was fast, and I really liked the place. The price was I guess reasonable enough. Anyway, we had the classic chicken, Lomi soup and the Imperial beef - all really tasty. I recommend the place!

After that we went to eat.. some more.
Sugar rush at Goldilocks!
Then some more the next day! Hahaha. We tried Jollibee's the ultimate burger steak for the first time. I would have to agree with Clare when she said she didn't really feel the 'Langhap Sarap' part. I don't know. Something was just off. Do something about it Jollibee. :)

http://picasion.com/i/1Tjst/

Enough food talk! Haha. The day reminded us of our humble beginnings. How we do whatever it takes to make every collection a success. And with God's grace we became more than what we expected. This is just the beginning and I do hope it lives on. Cheers, Pegshoppe! >:D<

Mom And Tina's

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Wasn't able to post this earlier. Pic quality sucks too. :(
Anyway, we had our early dinner after defense at Mom and Tina's! Although serving time took long, the food was great! Also, appreciated how they exchanged my order with pesto when I found out that their Chicken Relleno had pork on it. That was heroic of you, bruh. Haha.

Just now, my dad was in a real deep nightmare. It was as if he was crawling away from something. Like Sasaeng 'fans'. And he was mumbling all this.. well, mumbles. First time I saw him like that and it was a pretty scary site, so I woke him up. He was so thankful that I did. He certainly did not want to sleep again after that. Could hear him heavy breathing. :(

Sorry, I could not contain my feels. Was just reading an article on Sasaeng fans thus the reason behind my mentioning. "One time, a member was walking out when a sasaeng fan grabbed him by the back of his hair and caused him to fall over. She only did it because she wanted to be remembered by him, even if it's for something bad." WTF man. Could they still be considered fans? I understand that they wanted their idols to know they exist but that's just too much. I mean, ain't it enough to see them in person? Aish, humanity. It's a good study though. Ahehe.

Well, time to get back to work. It was fun while it lasted. Now I should go back to thesis mindset. Aigoo. But before that, how about we enjoy the last stage for SHINee's Dream Girl?

Brickfire.

I am getting fatter because of these people. -__-
But if it means trying out new restos and hanging out with the people around me, then I wouldn't mind becoming a giant. :)

We had our OJT Orientation today and thank God we did because honestly I was clueless. A lot of people ask me if I have made my resume yet and I was wondering why? Aish, I don't want history to repeat itself. This time I want to know everything that is to happen, reason why I keep a planner with me. But dear God, I am still so clueless. Anyway, I enjoyed the orientation. It enlightened me of my future endeavors. The first speaker talked about her experience with the kids and I envied her sooo much that it made me firm with my decision of going into medschool. She did say she gave up on the whole doctor thing and decided to go into child therapy or something. I am not certain about mine but I do hope I'll manage and pursue my now set path. Ok, things are getting serious around here. So I'll instead talk about what I had for lunch. :))

Brickfire for my hungry tummy! I ordered their Los Indios Chicken Adobo. Very cheap and uniquely plated. The first time I had to peel an egg inside a restaurant. Haha. I enjoyed the food! Service was fine but a friend who went to try it out before us complained about it. I don't know what happened but it was probably because there were only a number of employees. If I were them I'd hire someone. Yeah, my experience went well so I'll prolly give them a fair enough score.

Ramen X.

Sunday, February 3, 2013

We meet again! Finally!

It's been too long since we last saw each other. I missed these two fellas. So busy with our lives that we barely get to talk to each other even. #sigh thesis period. Anyway, we ate at Ramen X where food is delicious enough and prices are incredibly reasonable. I ordered their Gyudon and I don't know if it was because of hunger, but my plate was clean after only a few minutes. I also had milk tea. For P60! Well, watayanaw?! Haha. Doesn't really give me that "I FREAKIN LOVE THIS!" feeling but it ain't that bad neither. Check them out if you want.

Rating: 8

Like what I always say on a post with them, I wish to see them again. I want to see them daily if I could and if they could but that's just being selfish. I guess it's better we be on our way to wherever it is we're going. :)

S&R.

Home from the Psychology Quiz Bee Competition!
Didn't think answering questions under pressure would be that much fun. And I was surprised to find out how much I still know some of my Gen Psych. Haha. I didn't win, but it was a great experience. I'm glad I still went despite my inner chickenness. I actually turned down the offer of joining, but it was all thanks to my friends and their persuading. :)

S&R after the Quiz Bee! A spontaneous hang out.

Decided to try this resto located at Puregold, Cubao. Heard a lot of good reviews about it from friends Jerri and Tricia hence my craving to try it out. Until finally this afternoon, I did. My initial thoughts upon purchase, it seemed worth it. And it was! They have this P99 pizza/burger/hotdog meal which was quite tasty and REALLY HUGE. Good for 2, I guess? A large pizza and a tall drink, all for P99! Honestly though, since I'm not into American Style eating, it was to much for me. But putting that bias aside, I would still rate the store high.

Mahran Snack Inn.

Sunday, October 28, 2012

We went to Tagaytay yesterday.
Another of our spontaneous family trip. I don't even know what has gotten to the heads of this people to just suddenly want to go to Tagaytay and eat. Well, it was a fun trip anyway so not a big deal.

We tried this Halal restaurant somewhere along the streets of Tagaytay named Mahran Snack Inn. It was managed by this Palestinian guy and another Pakistani dude, both friendly and very welcoming. We took our orders and waited. And waited. And waited. I was growing tired already when the dishes came out, finally! Having been able to taste other Halal restos, I know pretty well it was not my type of food. But I had no other choice but to dig in. And to my surprise, it was tastiest food ever known to my stomach. It was really really good! And the serving was huge too! Good for 2 people I guess. They even gave us complimentary desserts!

Extreme yumminess!
This is a picture of their famous gelatin type dessert. There was another, it was sorta like a cake for them and it was extremely mouth watering. Too bad I wasn't able to take photos of it. My mouth couldn't control itself and started to eat. Haha.

Rating: 7
Giving it a fair score because the wait was just unbearable. And I suggest they do a bit of cleaning.

A post meant for yesterday.

3rd Barkad Meeting yesterday.
Hella tired last night. I think that's a pretty good enough reason why I was only able to post now. I hope so. K, so as usual, insert a picture here:

We ate at Perri-perri. Delicious stuff they have there. PLUS it's affordable. P155 for a meal then just add P45 if you want unlimited drinks. AND SOUP! Top that other unlimited restos. Haha. Kidding. But yeah, good stuff. Service was slow though. I don't know how many times we asked for bill out.

Rating: 9

Hoping for a 4th meeting. I miss those guys. :(
When I'm with them, my inner vanity just shows. It can't be helped. It just does. Haha. And lucky them I brought my dandy phone with me with a newly downloaded app called powercam. Cool app. Takes good pictures and makes you look pretty and all. Hehe. We did nothing but stroll around Ortigas and time just flew by. It's sale there too but ironically we didn't buy anything. :| :))

In celebration of our comeback to work.. -___-
And well, also because it's the end of the sem, me and my Pegshoppe amigas went to this place called Love Desserts located somewhere along Banawe Street.

Had nothing but desserts for 2 hours! Which is actually the whole point in going there. Duh. Anyway, you would think you'd survive eating diabetes for 2 hrs, but the fact is you can't. I was already full an hour before the 'time's up' call. And they had absolutely everything sugar there. From cheesecakes, to milk tea, to cupcakes to crepe, etcetera for P200. I may be biased for saying this (because their cheesecake was just love) but it's worth it, if you ask me. :)

Is it just me or is there something wrong with the name of this shop?! Although I can't quite tell what.. :))

Went to see Kapatid today!
Been ages since I last saw her! And because I missed her so much I could die, I went to her school.. COMMUTING. ALONE.

Grabe. First time I did that. I rode a jeepney to far far away, crossed the street alone without someone, anyone on the danger zone, took out my cellphone while on the street to answer a call and so on. All that for you, Kapatid. You should be honored. Hahaha.

We went to Infinitea and I tried their wintermelon milk tea.
-care of Kapatid since she promised. Haha. Thank you! Ironic how we have Infinitea at our caf but I never did try one. So basically it was my first time. Haha. Anyway, it was okay but Gongcha forever holds the #1 spot. Don't think any other milk tea place could beat it's after taste. Yuuumm~

After Math.

Taken 2 days ago before our test in Physics.
Don't even get me started on the scratch paper I used during the actual test. Much worse than this. MUCH MUCH WORSE. Anyway, I'm trying my best to forget about the test since I can't really tell if I did fine or not. So that aside.

On a much brighter note, we went to Kangaroo Jack today.

We had the buffet special and I got to eat unlimited Pesto! But what made the day more special was the fact that we, the 13 of us, were all present. Awww. That rarely happens! It was pure chaos. Haha. But extremely fun. Hope to have it more often. :)

Meh. Growing tired again. Eyes are sore. But wait. Before I end this, I would like to keep a promise..
